A Writer's Journey of a Secluded Mind

Okay, I am probably one of the worst writers. That being said, I just found out I have two reviews of Shoulders and Zippers on Amazon. 🙂

I feel really bad. I haven’t been paying attention.

My excuse? Well knitting… and my job is paying for me to take classes in Access, Excel, SQL Servers… So …

Yeah no excuse. I have been reading voraciously. And if you have read any of my other posts, well I am back in church.

Even going to church, still think I would love to have two men… Well maybe… Not so sure I know what to do with one. 😉 lol

But yes, ONE of my books has reviews. I need to pull up my big girl panties and finish the others. I think some are just waiting on reviews.

Ravalry (Knitting Site) has become a favorite haunt of mine also.

Gaming… well I am down to Minecraft. When I get the chance. Not much time for anything else.

Goal 2017: Publish one book

And get everything loaded into Excel 🙂

I have had my Kindle Fire for years now. Couldn’t tell you how long but, well, there are thousands of books on it. I have had to reset back to original programming a few times because I had used up all the space on the Fire.

Well, now I have bought a Kindle 8. Still trying to decide. Its black and white. Doesn’t light up. Very much like a book. It is smaller and lighter than the Fire. Not so sure how I am supposed to listen to the audio. Thought I saw somewhere about Bluetooth. I’ll find that one out. Is easy to hold in one hand. A bit sensitive on the touch screen. There’s no home button so getting there isn’t the easiest. I had actually bought so I could get the Bible in the original script, which the Fire wouldn’t support. I actually need to connect it to the WiFi at home and not just at work, so I can see if that is true.

Not so good of a review? I’ll say this the 8 fits in my purse a lot easier and works as a work book. No glare from the florescent lights. I’d read it at home, but it doesn’t light up. So the Fire I’ll keep for home. It lights up at night. Reading a single book between the two has been okay. They have been keeping in sync with minimal fuss.

If you want the actual specs, you’ll have to go to Amazon. While I was shocked at how small it is, I am not too upset with it. It’s done okay. I’m a Kindle lover all the way so… Unless it doesn’t support the Hebrew and Aramaic script, I’ll keep it. Now too see how long it will hold a charge?

Frank and Matthew

It was the scream and thud that woke Frank up. He didn’t even pause just went out his bedroom door and across the hall.

“Pup? Mattie it’s me.” Frank walked in to a room in disarray and dark. Well there was half the problem Mattie didn’t leave the light to the en suite on.

“Mattie, it’s okay to leave the light on. I have the kitchen one on too.” Frank walked across using the light coming from the open curtains to make his way to the bathroom.

Turning the light on, Frank was able to see the crack in the closet. That wouldn’t be where Mattie was. No, the young man always somehow managed to get himself under the bed. Frank was too old and too large to be crawling under there, though that first night he had.

Grabbing the bedding and the pillows Frank settled down on the floor leaving a path to the bedroom and to the bathroom for Mattie.

“I’m just going to sleep right here pup. It’s okay. We’ll talk in the morning about changing the sleeping arrangement okay?”

Frank could just see Mattie’s eyes as he peered at him from beneath the bed. Laying back on his back, Frank shut his eyes and started counting. He hit ten when he heard the first shift, twenty when he heard the next. Patience was what Frank needed. How many times had he had to wait for Mattie to figure out that he wasn’t in trouble for being scared. They were still trying to follow Mattie’s trail, find where he came from and how he ended up at the club.

But until the sweet pup started talking they were running blind. Frank sighed, it would happen. Patience and quiet right now were the key. And Frank could provide that in spades. The guys would take care of the club until Mattie had adjusted then they would go from there.

120. Frank stilled and stayed silent as Mattie crawled next to him on the make-shift bed. He didn’t say a word. He had spoken the other night and sent Mattie scrambling for safety, now he just waited for a sign.

Mattie had watched the feet of the large man come in and turn on the light. He still wasn’t so sure that it was okay, but he wasn’t in charge. He had had another bad dream and hadn’t meant to wake anyone.

Now watching the Master lay down on the floor he felt guilty. Not that he had been punished for being inconvenient, yet. He didn’t understand. He had woken up the house, why wasn’t he in trouble?

Carefully crawling from under the bed, Mattie stayed low and scooted closer to the warmth that permeated from the silent form. Just to be warm. When no punches or scolding words came Mattie settled down to sleep. Maybe…

How did we get here with Frank and Matthew? I still do not know what I am going to call him, Matt, Matthew or Mattie. Comment below. And I’ll fill in some of the blanks as I go.

Thank you for reading. 😀

Broken toe and all that

I promise I will get all caught up.

I’ve been playing Minecraft.. No more to say there.

But I broke my toe doing something really stupid, stepping over a box on the floor. I didn’t step far enough. I am now mostly healed and getting back into the swing of cardio. Nasty stuff that, that cardio.

Believe me this post is all about excuses. My sister was gone for a week to a conference and I have both kids the majority of the time, plus unplanned visit from my parents…. No more to say there….

Well I have missed all my posts the last month. Missed my muse and then some. I am still sitting on Frank and Matthew’s story. I am having a hard time getting the right words for Matthew’s side. And I am a great big chicken liver and cannot seem to get the courage to ask the owner of the pic if I can use his pic seeing as it was his caption to the picture that found me Frank’s other half. … Did anyone else get dizzy with that one?

Though, funny funny, if anyone recognizes it. Jamie’s Jelly is in process. Don’t know where the story line will go. But I have high hopes for it. 😀

But, well after all my waffling around I am ready to get back to work.

Plate is full, and my skills at time management, well I just haven’t developed those yet. ha-ha 😀 ItWorks, writing, (stalking) um not… um admiring beautiful people, 40 hour desk job, full time single parent… exercising… Anything else? Playing games (just Minecraft, though I do have Hearthstone on my phone now. I had to reset my Apple password. Stupid) bothering people, wait I’m to old to be doing that…. wondering when my Keeper will find me… oh who knows what goes on in the crazy mind of mine.

I am revamping the blog site. Adding a published works page with all my books and as soon as I figure it out a PayPal button. I need someone website savvy.

Being an author is not cheap. I have to pay my illustrator in Starbucks coffee. 😀 And getting copy rights to use images is not cheap either. All for the good and enjoyment of writing and sharing my craziness with others.

“Why are you still here?” Frank was amazed and worried. When he had talked to Jake it had sounded like the weekend had gone well, but Nat was back to work on Wednesday. Well Nat’s body was back at work, his mind not so much.

Nat looked up at Frank obviously trying to hold it in, Frank melted. “Come here kid.” Nat came for the hug and comfort he so obviously needed. He started bawling and all Frank could do was hold him. He’d be talking to Jake tonight. “Shh.. It’ll all work out.”

“There was nothing I could do” Frank was saying later that night. “He was devastated Jake, how could you just leave him here?” Frank had spent all morning in the auto office consoling Nat instead of working on the car that was due the end of this week. Nat had needed it. “You do realize I had no choice but to bring him home. He’s asleep in the guest room.”

“I had no choice, he has to make this decision.” Frank could hear Jake growling at the sound of his boy in someone else’s house. “He has a lot of issues and I’m moving over there as soon as I have everything here straitened out. .”

“But to leave him like this?” Frank was growling now. Both of these men he cared about and they were both stubborn. He knew Nat wouldn’t call Jake and Jake like the good Dom he was would give Nat room to figure things out. “Well don’t wait too long, I don’t want to lose another office admin. That kid has the auto shop running so tight. He has to get it together before the boys in back find out.”

Frank ran his hand over his head. He was losing hair quickly and these two were not helping him.

“I’ve already talked to an agent. I just have to find a place over there. Keep an I on him.” Jake let out a huge sigh. Frank could hear him drop onto some furniture. “I’ll try to get back quickly.”

“He’s not going to call you.”

“I know Frank.”

“Just… just keep an eye on him. I have to make sure I have everything ready before I can give him what he needs.” Frank could see Jake sitting with his head in his hands. He’d seen that pose many times when Jake was working out a problem. “I’m coming for him. I don’t think he believes that. But I am coming for him.”

Frank snorted. Kid had gotten under the almighty Jake’s skin. “You fell for him.”

“Yeah.”

(Not Posted)

Frank watched as Nat and Jake left the shop. It was closing time and he was once again going home to an empty house. He was envious for his friend. Envious and well… He had mentored Jake and now was happy to see his friend settle down with his own sub.

He should probably go and check in on the club. See the new crop of boys, but who was he kidding?

Making sure the office was locked as well as the store front, Frank walked back to the shop just as they guys pulled down the doors.

“You going out to play tonight?”

“Not tonight boys. I have some things to do.” Frank watched as everyone got into their cars and drove off before going and getting on his bike. He checked his messages

There is a rogue out. We may need to tighten security. Talk in the morning.

Frank looked at the sky. Just what the community needed. Well nothing for it tonight.

Yep. Bugs. Simple and easy.
Prose, poetry, play. Fiction, nonfiction. It’s all good, all bugs.

“Jake! Jake! Jake!”

Jake came running from the shop with Frank right behind him, “What?”

Nat was standing on the table in front of the couch in his office, “B-b-b-b-b-bug!” He pointed over towards the corner behind his desk.

Jake walked over to look thinking it would be a little beetle or something, nope! He scooted right back to stand behind Nat, he wasn’t quite joining him on the table. “Frank?!”

Frank walked around the desk and looked down, a very large, ugly, brown beetle was sitting in the corner. Frank grabbed a cup and a piece of paper and scooped up the bug. “I’ll just take this outside.”

“My Hero!” Nat jumped into a laughing Jake’s arms.

Frank checked with each Security station, the dungeon master, his partner James, double checked that Nat and Jake had indeed left and walked out the door.

He made sure that his phone was on. Every now and then something happened and he had to go back. Rarely as he was more the silent partner. He was growing tired of the games. Tired of trying to find a little innocence in the fresh faces that came in with each new crop.

He’d given the training of the subs and Masters over to Dirk, their new Dungeon Master. Upgrading security and hiring someone, that someone being a long time friend of all of theirs and his security firm. Well that had been a stroke of genius and a little luck. He could use a little luck, he seemed to be spending more time in the shop running herd on the boys there, watching over his friends.

Frank was ready for love to come his way.

Frank saw the screen on his phone flash. Dirk.

“Hello?”

“Frank, we have a problem.”
