Gaming Community (complete rambles)

I haven’t been in ages. I have been lost in YouTube and Twitter.

But the Gaming Community is a great place. Once you’ve established yourself as a player, you are missed in absences, appreciated in appearances and are able to gather friends from around the world.

Within the community, find your game, and play. Play well, play badly, just play and have fun. There is no reason to get all panties-in-a-twist because a game doesn’t go your way. Granted half the fun is the reactions people have when playing the games.

I soo suck at playing any game requiring a controller. However, after I don’t know how many restarts (still demo playing on the ps4) I am actually getting to understand MineCraft. Damn boxes. Love them even if they frustrate the rest of the house. lol I think with the console type games, I am just not close enough to the tv but, I am such an active player that I would probably knock the tv off the stand if I got too close.

I’ll have to find an upload one day. You would probably end up laughing too. I mean a not teenager ( I am not saying how old I am, but I have decided I am celebrating “7”s this year), moving the controller all over the space to make the dang characters on the tv jump. Why do you have to have a joystick to move and a joystick to look all over the place? Yes, I do occasionally end up kicking my feet as I wait for something to happen online. (okay, maybe more than…)

But I have fun, and it is great that I am not the only one in the house (mine or yours) that sits there and yells/pleads/argues with the game.

The great thing about community gaming is the people you can talk to, sometimes you get lucky and there are one or two people who are on the same time you are on it can become a great way to relax and relate with people. I think as long as you remain open minded and respectful there is so much more you can get from the world around you. Hey, with gaming you already have something in common.

Pet Peeve- Be where you say you are going to be

I am notorious for not being where I say I am going to be… on-line that is. And it annoys me to no end that I do something I find absolutely frustrating in others.

I am trying to juggle Instagram, a Facebook page, Youtube (no I am not posting videos yet, but I do have playlists and people I follow), my blog (Thank you again for following me), Twitch (again a future project), writing my stories and life. Yet alone the few chats I am involved in across the board.

No wonder fellow gamers and bloggers are not always where they say they are going to be. However, IF (the biggest word in the dictionary) you plan on making a career in the public eye. BE where you say you are going to be and WHEN.

Make sure you are not biting off more than you can chew. It drives me nuts when I don’t have a pic before I leave the house for IG. I am getting better understanding if I at least post once a day I am good. That is not something anyone expects of me and I do not have a ton of followers (seem to flit between 60 and 64) lol.. I just expect it of myself and if I post more good.

I finally have Facebook figured out, post on Mondays, after I post to the weekly blog on WordPress. And I have Wednesdays figured out on WordPress, of all things I am a few weeks ahead. Now I should be able to catch up to NaNo and Twitch and my pics and … of all the dreaded things the emails and my commitment to a 12 month program where I am very far behind. I have finally caught up with Absolute Write, realizing it much like InstaGram is a Daily activity.

Now for my rant, if you post you will be online Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. You had best be. It is a proven fact: start how you intend to go on. If you want to build a web presence you cannot slack off, you cannot without being on your death bed not show up. If you are sick…. post you will return as soon as you feel well. Enlist in others to help you, and if you have enlisted in others to help you: DO not leave them wondering WTF??

And if you are a follower- be where you say you will be. Those you follow rely on you too. Be supportive and understanding that there is a life outside of the virtual world. I often fail at this, thinking I am the only one. Then I do a quick reality check and realize that I have let one my many media balls fall to the floor. I have some to go pick up after I get done writing this blog.

Social media much like losing weight or gaining muscles only happens IF you work at it. I am working at it. I very much would love to have enough going on the next few years that I could retire early and take a walk-about England. There are a few villages I am in search of… Who doesn’t dream of making it big? But that comes at a price – commitment, accountability and honesty.

I admit I have failed in the past in making sure I am here. I have failed in making sure I show up on chats that I have committed to. No more. If it means waking up a little earlier, staying up a little later, than I shall. If nothing else I owe my followers the common courtesy of being where and when I say I will be.

I also owe my family and friends (virtual and corporeal) the courtesy of being where I say I will be. This is something I am working on. Not a New Years resolution. But a NOW resolution.

(at the time I write this my followers hover at 99… Thank you)

Warlords of Draenor – World of Warcraft

I am throwing the biggest fit ever. I don’t get to play. Not by choice but more by life kicked my in the but and of all things I had to go to HomeDepot and order parts to fix the kitchen cupboards someone in the house broke. (There is a ‘not me’ ghost in the house… again.)

But I so digress. I have had the privilege to watch the Beta edition the past 2 months? And OMG I cannot wait. The game hits the US at midnight the 13th, 7 hours earlier in the GMT. (I where I’ll be at 3)

I follow US and GMT (UK, Ireland) gamers on Twitch and YouTube for the games. I cannot wait to see the opening to the game again… and watch (and maybe glean some tips for when I get to play) and watch and laugh my ass off.. I think by a slight margin better than the graphics being released are the reactions of the players. I mean? The facials for the triumphs and the epic fails. It is wonderful.

Blizzard is releasing some new things soon. I’m not at the place where I can get to all the facts and research I want to make sure I report things accurately. December, January…. All going to be awesome months.

So I am spending time Gaming and watching gamers do what I want. I will get my book done before next December in-between all the playing I’ll be doing.

Twitch, Iphone, YouTube, PC – Aw****!!

web-oct 2014 003      web-oct 2014 005

I did not have a good combination of options last night. I am not a tech-noobie, but boy did I do a noob justice last night. The picture on the left above is just before a moment where I was laughing my ass off. (I can say ass right?)Anyways… Yes, I did have to go and replay it a few times. It was good for giggles. 😀

One of those can I do this moments followed after that.

Can I get this converted to YouTube?

Wait do I even have the right software….

Followed by a search of can I even find the footage? (Footage is there. Just have a glitch in the original recording. But the audio….)

So back to my quest for the search, yes the software is there, yes the Iphone works… wait Iphone needs to update. Update started at 10:02 pm. The little blue bar is not moving… Still not moving after I patiently read part of a book.

Still hasn’t moved. A clue?

At midnight I decided to go to sleep update was not done. Up at 2:30 the OCD in me could not handle the fact that the weather made the WIFI wonky and the update was NOT done. Aaaaaaahhhhh!!

Click on Apple exit, will stop the update. Must restore phone. Restore phone? Huh??  Okay restoration of phone. Requires a computer restart (by then I had all the USB connections screwed up between the assorted portable hardware.)

And restarting the computer gets me this little square blue box.  WTF? Okay, the USB ports got all screwed up. Restart the computer, again. By now I am beating my head against the pillows, the house is cold and dark and I really cannot make a lot of noise.

Its three o’clock in the morning, a sane person would have went to sleep. But the phone is my alarm clock, I am addicted to IG and I have to, have to, have to have it available on Halloween. Did I mention I have to?

Computer and Apple do not even recognize the fact that the Iphone exists. Iphone doesn’t even recognize itself.  I’z a litte perturbed. Now this is running the fact that I got maybe 3 hours sleep the night before? Yah, not impressed.  So, okay I get the phone restarted and figured out. I now need the password to the household WIFI.

I live in a house of people where nothing is ever put back where it belongs. For example:

The pamphlet from the cable company containing the passcode is not in the little red box or the bag of cable stuff. Both logical places to find it.

The Motrin for my niece, who has since woken up with a fever, is not in the medicine cabinet, on the rec-room table or in the kitchen.

My keys are not on the hook.

At this point, priorities get rearranged and I run to the 7-Eleven in my minion jammie bottoms and grab Motrin, 2 Dr. Peppers and a few of those little silver dollar beef jerkies. I felt better after those.

Okay everything delivered. A little bit of food and some caffeine. Somewhere in the mess of electronics I own there is the password. Quick search through the computer – no go. Kindle, Ipad, well the Iphone is out. It’s what wanted the password in the first place.

Back to the computer:

Network and Sharing Center – click

Wireless Network Connection Center – click (I’m starting to feel smarter)

Wireless properties !! (Small celebration)

Securities. –click At this time I have one of those palm to forehead moments. I mean why didn’t I go here before? I am really not this tech-illiterate. Has to be the lack of sleep.

Okay, passcode entered _ Restoration will take 12 minutes.

20 minutes later (remember the phone said 12? And the internet has been wonky?) the phone is up and restoring back to the other night and it is now a half hour wait for all of the apps to reload. I might just have too many apps.

By this time it’s 5 in the morning. There is no reason to go to bed as I have to get up at 5 to get ready to go to work.

I am now at point A, again. I have the weekend, I think, to get the vid figured out. Maybe…

I’d would say my Halloween started out with a little bit of a trick. And I think I’ll wait to upload the software upgrade for another day.

However the greatest thing? The computer and the Iphone now both recognize that it is there.

Coffee is now a requirement to function. I hope everyone has a great Halloween (if you celebrate) and if you don’t, Have an awesome Friday!

I have succumbed

Well, yes I have succumbed. I missed my magey-gnome so much I am going back…

Yes, I am going back to WOW. I played a long time ago with a friend on their account, thus the need to get my own. And I did. After much debating and looking around I purchased the beginning boxed set.

However, I know how much time I don’t have for playing. So, thanks to the invention of prepaid cards, I’ll just purchase a few months at a time.

NaNo is starting up soon, so I will have no time I am sad to say.

But anyways I have so digressed from the original purpose of this post, it is the chat’s fault and Twitch’s as to why I am running screaming and jumping back onto the band wagon. No, seriously it’s all their fault.

Good news on the gaming front- I only have 3 more heroes to level up to level 10 before the next set of goals.

I hope all is going well for everyone.

sept oct 2014 075I am starting to like playing this character. I will have to find the picture from last night. Epic win!
